Update for September 28th
A brief update for September 28th. The fog of war limits today's news. I will not talk about the missile strikes today because that is just a lot of information.

Near Kupyansk, Ukraine is expanding its two bridgeheads.
While I still do not have confirmation, I believe Ukraine is either contesting or liberating Tavilzhanka (1).

In the south, Ukraine liberated Kivsharivka (A), and they are attacking south toward Novoosynove (2) and Kuryivka (3). They may have cleared Kuryivka as well.
I have no news about Petropavlivka (B).
Ukraine is working on closing the noose around Lyman and securing the area up the Oskil River.

Ukraine is pushing north from Nyzhche Solone toward Borova (4). Ukraine has forces in Pidlyman (C ), although it is unclear if these are recon or regular troops. I do not believe Ukraine liberated it, nor do I know how strongly Russia defends it.

Several days ago, Russia blew up the bridges across the Borova River, cutting the Borova in half.
Russia has known fortifications in Cherneshchyna (D) and Pershotravneve (E), and probably Raihorodka (F), Hrekivka (G), and Makiivka (H).
Ukraine liberated Serednje (I), and they may have cleared Shandryholove (J) as well, but I cannot find confirmation. There is ongoing fighting in Derylkove (5) and Drobysheve (6).
Ukraine is moving south from Kolodyazi toward Zarichne (7), and there are rumors that Ukraine is attacking Torske from the south (8).
I believe the rumors about this southern attack resulted from misreading Russian sources. Wargonzo said Ukraine is attacking Torske from Kolodyazi, which confused people. I marked this southern attack on the map, but take it with a grain of salt.
Ukraine is firing German-made remote anti-tank mines along the road to Torske. They are fired from MARS MLRS, which are similar to HIMARS (they are larger and slower but can carry twelve rockets instead of six).
Lyman is in critical danger of encirclement. However, from what I understand, Ukraine did not attack Lyman today, focusing instead on capturing the surrounding areas.
I learned Siversk is being shelled from the east by mortars. There are two ways to explain this.
First, Russian infantry is firing mortars from the hills. These mortars can fire around 7km.
Second, Russia's self-propelled mortars are firing with their roughly 15km range.
The mortar attacks are said to come in waves. I marked a contested area within the 120mm mortar range of the city (K).

I do not have information about Bakhmut or Soledar.
South of Bakhmut, there is heavy ongoing fighting around Zaitseve (9,10) and Odradivka (11). Russia is heavily shelling Zaitseve, and the soldiers there suffer both physically and mentally.
Ukraine may have reclaimed positions near Mykolaivka Druha because there is fighting reported there today (12).
In addition, Russia attacked Ozarianivka (13), Mayorsk (14), and Zalizne (15). Ozarianivka and Zalizne are two areas Russia does not often attack, so that is interesting.

Near Donetsk, Russia performed regular attacks on Kamyanka, Pervomaiske, Pobjeda, and Novomykhailivka. Russia reportedly suffered significant losses near Pervomaiske, but otherwise, these attacks are status quo. What is interesting, though, is that Russia fired very little artillery in New York, Avdiivka, and Krasnohorivka today.

In Kherson, Russia attacked Bezimenne (16) without success. I have heard that Ukrainian forces are within 5km of Charivne (L). Charivne is Russia's main defensive line, so this is significant. However, I do not know what it means for Ukrainians to be this close to the town.
Could it be recon? That could make sense. There have been reports in prior weeks of Ukrainian recon reaching this far south. If they are regular troops, that would be impressive. However, the Russian attack on Bezimenne suggests it is only recon.
